Dear Friends and Supporters of the Saigon Chamber Ensemble:
We
would like to invite you all to our next concert, featuring
performances of classical masterpieces, delighted pop/light-jazz
tunes, and Vietnamese beautiful songs at
Le Petit Trianon Theatre on April 19, 2008 at 8:00 pm.
Highlights of the program will include Rossini's elegant Overture of
The Barber of Seville, youthful Mendelssohn's classy String Symphony
No. 3 in D minor, Copland's upbeat Hoedown from Rodeo,
enthusiastically performed by 30-piece Saigon Chamber Ensemble under
the baton of skillful guest conductor Nguyen Khanh Hong; Piazzola's
passionate nouveau tangos, brilliantly interpreted by guest virtuosi
Nguyen The An, on guitar, and Nguyen Phuc Hai, on viola; Toselli's
celebrated Serenata, Cung Tien's lovely Huong Xua, shining through
the beautiful voice of classical trained and successful crossover
vocalist Bich Van. The program will also be enlightening with
charming MC Pham Hoang Lan.
Located at
72 North 5th Street in downtown San Jose across from the
beautiful new City Hall, Le Petit Trianon's unsurpassed acoustics,
aesthetics, and Steinway D 9' Concert Grand combine to make it one
of the best chamber music venues in the South Bay.
Tickets are priced at $25 (general) and $40 (sponsor/VIP), which
will be available on March 31st at Huong Giang Music, Lion Plaza,
1816 Tully Road, Suite 170, San Jose, California, or at the
door one hour prior to the concert time. Tickets can also be
purchased by mailing a check, payable to Saigon Chamber Ensemble, to
